SSR Selfie | The gurffalo

L.I: To summarise and retell a text 

For SSR Selfie I read a book called The gruffalo. The Gruffalo is about a mouse going on an adventure and tricks animals to thinking there's a scary creature called a Gruffalo. The main characters in the story is the mouse, the fox, the owl, the snake and the Gruffalo. In the story a mouse tricks animals to thinking there's a scary creature called the gruffalo to avoid being eaten by the animals. Another thing that happened in the story is that the mouse meet the gruffalo. I found this book very fun to read and the book was good. 



Recount

 For writing I wrote a recount. The recount I made was about a crazy Saturday I had. 

First I planed my recount by using a daily routine plan I made. In the daily routine plan I wrote down what I do before school, at school, after school and after dinner.  

Before school I usually brush my teeth, change into my uniform and pack my things up. At school I usually do my work and play with my friends. After school I Walk home, change into my normal clothes and play roblox. After dinner I watch youtube, play a little bit of roblox and sleep.

Then I had to choose a day. I chose Saturday.  Then I wrote down my recount about that day. In my recount, the people who are involved are mainly Collin (Cousin) and Charis (Nephew). My recount is called A crazy day. Its about me having a crazy and fun day with my nephew, nieces and cousin. 

Governing Topics

 Governing topics are about political parties who want to lead the country. The important topics to me are Education and Transport and infrastructure.

Education is about learning and trying new things to get more knowledge. 

Transport and infrastructure is about how parties want to upgrade transport.

I chose education because I'm a student and I find learning and trying new things very important to me.

I chose Transport and infrastructure because my parents uses their vehicles to go places and take people to places.

Safety plan

 For inquiry my group and I made a fire and food safety plan for our risk and hazards. The hazard for the fire is the fire, the people and the wind. The risk is getting burnt. For the food hazard is the fire, people and the stick. The risk is poking yourself. 

First my group and I talked about the hazards, risks and consequences for our fire and food safety. Next we wrote down the hazards, risks and consequences. 

After that we did the same thing with the food safety plan. 

After writing the hazards, risks and the consequences we wrote how we could prevent it. We also wrote an emergency plan.

Finally after making the plans we made smores. By using our safety plans we roasted our marshmallow safely and made our smores

The smores were delicious and yummy.  I found it fun roasting my marshmallow. I enjoyed the activity really much.

Rounding

 Rounding is finding the nearest ten, hundred, thousand.


Addition and division are both strategies they are used for rounding. To round, the person needs to find the mean, to find the mean get a set of numbers like 5,7,1,9,3 and then add them altogether which would make the number 25. Then divide them by the amount of numbers there are which makes 5.

Now this is were the rounding begins, if the number is 5-9 that makes the number go up. If the number 0-4 it makes the number go down. For example 21.85 then it becomes 21.9

Gruffalo rewrite

In the Gruffalo story there was an Owl. The Owl lived in a tree top house and the Gruffalo's favourite food is Owl ice cream.

The Owl was swapped with a falcon. The falcon lived in a deep dark cave. The Gruffalo's favourite food is Falcon fries.

The Owl was swapped to a Falcon because they are both flying creatures and they can catch their preys with their claws on their feet. 

The Owl ice cream was swapped to Falcon fries because it fits with the animal. 

The tree top house was swapped to a deep dark cave because its a interesting place for a falcon to live in.

Visualising

Visualising is getting an image by getting hints and clues.

Visualising was used in The Gruffalo activity. The Gruffalo activity was about visualising each important part in The Gruffalo book.

Visualising was also used in the Nogard activity. The Nogard activity was about visualising what a Nogard is by getting hints and clues from the description about the Nogard.
