L.I: To add by counting on by 10's from the last number
For maths we practice using the counting on strategy. In this activity we have to do 4 task. 1 was making a diagram on solving this problem. The other task was create a story problem. The third task was answering maths questions and the final task was answering the problem. The maths problem was 38 + 50. By using the counting on strategy, what I did what start from 38 and count on like this. 38, 48,58,68,78,88. By counting in tens I found my answer. The answer is 88.
I am a Year 7 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Mrs Fisi'iahi.

Kupe and Cook are 2 important explorers in New Zealand's History.

SSR Selfie
L.I: To summarise and retell a text
For SSR Selfie I read this book called The Last Thirteen: 10th. It was created by James Phelan and Terry Denton. The main characters are Sam, Zara, Lora, Eva, Xavier. The 3 main things that I found it the book was a truck was chasing Sam and Lora, Eva and Xavier was planning to break Sam and Lora out of prison and Eva and Xavier got arrested. I also learnt new words like Authentic and Gingerly. It was interesting but I didn't like the story line.

Basic Facts
L.I: To remember basic maths facts
Today I did my basic facts boxes . I did the Speed Demon challenge. I did it Up to 5 again. It took me 6 minutes and 15 seconds. I got every answer correct once again. Next time I am going to challenge myself to a harder challenge because Up to 5 is easy.

Compound sentence
L.I: To show an increasing knowledge of how a range of text conventions can be used appropriately
This week we extended our sentence understanding to what is a Compound sentence. First we watched a video showing how a compound sentence is 2 thoughts on a subject joined with a conjunction. Next we learnt that FANBOYS are conjunctions to join sentences. It stands for (For,And, Nor, But, Or, Yet and So) . We hen tested our understanding by recording mixed up sentences. I have created this DLO which I hope it helps your understanding.

L.I: To start a conversation with people
Today I commented on Hector. He did his kiwi can and I was interested on what he wrote. After reading the blog. I commented and asked him if that was the main thing that happened in kiwi can. Now I am waiting for his response and starting a conversation with him over Kiwi can.
