Optical Illusion | SLJD3 - 1

Optical illusions are shapes that confuses or messes with people.

My optical illusion is called the impossible triangle. To make this shape I followed a step by step tutorial. The triangle on the left is the tutorials and the right one is mine.

To make this optical illusion I used a ruler, a piece of paper, a pencil, and an eraser.

There are many different kinds of optical illusion like moving ones, ones that have a short effect on the world around you.

This activity was confusing because I didn't know where to erase the lines but it was still simple to do. I had fun doing this as well.

What are you doing today? | SLJD3-1

For our task today we were doing a task called What are you doing today?. In this task we have to rearrange Maori words to make a sentence.

The first sentence we arranged is "What are you doing today?" The translation of that sentence is "Kei te aha koe i tenei ra?"

The next sentence we arranged is "I am going to.." In this one we had to add the right Maori word from a pile of words. I chose papa takaro which means field or playground. So the sentence would be "I am going to the field/playground."

The final sentence we arranged is the same as "I am going to.." but we get to choose any word. I chose kaukau which means swim. So that means the sentence would be "I am going to swim"

This task was quite difficult for me because I couldn't understand some words but I still found it easy and fun because I could understand most words that I learnt.

Kowhaiwhai

Our third task for the summer learning journey is called Tanerore. In the Tanerore task we have to create a kowhaiwhai pattern. We could make it on a google drawing or a piece of paper but I chose the google drawing.

Tanerore is the son of Hine-raumati. Tanerore is the personification for shimmering air. Tanerore performed a haka for his mother.

The wiriwiri is an hand action that is use to represent shimmering heat. The wiriwiri is when you make your hand tremble. The wiriwiri can be seen in a haka or action songs which is also know as Waiata a ringa.

I enjoyed creating the kowhaiwhai patterns. I think my kowhaiwhai pattern is very unique out of all the students in my class.

Fishy false teeth | SLJD 2 - 1

For today's summer learn journey task we had to create a comic. First thing we did was read an article. The article was about a fisherman named Cor who lost his teeth while sailing to the North Seas.

Cor and his friend Hugo sailed together.  As Cor and Hugo continue to sail off Hugo finds Cor teeth. After that we filled a template to understand a text.

Finally I created a comic by adding text to some of the text boxes. For the comic I used a different story line that I made up.

I enjoyed doing the activity. I think the story line I used is creative and I would like to create a comic again.

Kick start | Art colouring book

In our first SLJ (Summer Learning Journey) teaser task we were colouring drawings. First thing we did was search for a drawing that we would like to colour in.

Next we looked at the original drawing and took a screen shot of that. Then we coloured in the drawing by using the colour pallet that is below the picture.

We could use the first 8 colours which were the original colours from the original picture. We could also use the other 8 colours which were colours that we could randomly use to change the drawing.

I used different colours on the statue of liberty because I thought it would look good. In my opinion the statue of liberty drawing looks good and better than the original one.

This activity was fun to do. I really like the results I got after re-colouring the statue of liberty.

After colouring in the drawing we downloaded that. Here are the results of my version of the drawing:
