Up, Up and Away: Flying Fungi

Today I am gonna solve this maths question. Here is the Maths problem. Let’s imagine that we tested the air in your classroom and found 7 different kinds of mould. Eek! The cleaner says that it takes 5 days for each mould to be eradicated (removed). If the school had to remove each mould one at a time, how long would it take to remove all the mould from the classroom? My answer to that is 35 days.

  1. Hi there Leon,

I see that you have perfectly understood this question and have solved it brilliantly! I wonder, how did you work it out and find the answer?

That classroom must be really damp and dirty to have 7 different kinds of moulds growing, ew! It wouldn't be healthy to stay in a classroom like that. It can get quite damp and chilly here in winter so we need to be aware and on the lookout for any signs of growing mould. It is not good to have mould in the classroom, at home, or wherever you are so it's important that we try to eliminate and prevent them from visiting us.

    Best,
    Evelyn :)
