Reading large numbers

Reading big numbers is hard. To read big numbers like 547 829 316, start reading from the millions place value.

In the millions house there are three different groups. The hundred millions, the ten millions and the millions. Start reading from the hundred millions to the millions column, for example: five hundred and forty-seven million.

Next read the thousands house. In thousands house there a three groups too. Hundred thousands, ten thousand and thousands. Start reading from the hundred thousands to the thousands, for example: eight hundred and twenty-nine thousand.

Finally read the ones place value house. In the ones house there a three groups as well. The hundreds, tens and ones. Start reading from the hundreds to the ones, for example: three hundred and sixteen.

Then read all the numbers from the millions value to the ones value, for example: Five hundred and forty-seven million and eight hundred and twenty-nine thousand and three hundred and sixteen.
