Subtraction

For Maths we learnt how to do subtraction using place value. Subtraction is taking away from a number. I know 186 - 143 = 43.

First I broke up 143 into place values (One hundred, forty and three).

Next I subtracted the ones from 186. 186 - 3 = 183.

Then I subtracted the tens from 183. 183 - 40 = 143.

Finally I subtracted 100 from 173. 143 - 100 = 43.

So that means 186 - 143 =43.

Subtraction using place value is kind of easy.
