Taniwha role

L.I: To learn how to play the Taniwha role

Today me and the year 5's played as the Tanwha role in Kiwi Sport. We had to do 3 challenges.

Challenges
Challenge 1 - The first challenge was we had to throw the ki at the tupu in 1 minute. Our total score was 19.

Challenge 2 - Our second challenge was how long it would take for the year 5's to throw the ki at the Tupu. Once we hit it we had  to sit in Te ao and wait for the other Year 5's to try score a hit on the Tupu.

Challenge 3 - Our last challenge was we had 1 minute to throw the ki at the Tupu but the Kaitiaki is guarding the Tupu so the ki can't hit it. Our score was 2.

We were only allowed to stay in Te Roto but we weren't allowed to be in Pawero.

Save Te ara
To end our Kiwi sport we played one more game called " Rescue Te ara". How to play is there will be 10 people in Te roto and try tag the other people who are playing as Rahi. 1 person haves to go in Pawero to save Te ara. If the kidnappers tag one of the year 5's then the year 5's joins Te ara. To save Te ara you have to link arms with Te ara and try to escape without getting tag.

Music

L.I: To learn the chords

Today me and year 5's did music with Whai Odie. We used the Ukulele for the instrument. We learnt 3 different chords. They were A minor, F and C. We were gonna do a song but first Whai Odie did an example. She did Baby by Justin Bieber for an example. Then we did one call away. I liked the sound of the song that we did with the Ukulele. For the A minor note we had to use our middle finger, the f note is on the ring finger and c is use 2 fingers.

Kiwi can

L.I: To use body language

Today me and the year 5's did Kiwi can. Only Mr's Page was there because Mr Alapati was at soft ball.

Energiser

We started we an energiser straight away and it was called fruit salad. If Mrs
Page say apple we have to turn are hips to the left. If she says pear we have to turn our hips to the right. If she says Banana we have to move our stomach forward and if she says watermelon then we have to stick out butts out. I kept on being a winner because I was good at it but everyone tried their best.

Body Language
Next we talked about body language. Body Language is like Hi-5, an fist bump and more actions that we use with our body.

Activity
For our activity we went outside to play a game. We didn't know what the game name was but it involved an ball. Mrs page rolled the ball to a team and the person in the middle had to kick it. The other team haves to grab the ball and try to tag the person who kicked the ball by touching them with the ball or throwing it at them.

Reading

L.I: To gain knowledge

This week me and my group made an info graphic. An info graphic is a visual representation of information or data, e.g. as a chart or diagram. Me and my group made an info graphic about reading. WE did what reader are we. I am an Chapter, action, drama, comics, Quest series, Mythical and legend reader. On the google draw me and Ong made an book to represent the reading info graphic. The only way to gain knowledge is by reading a book. Reading gives you knowledge and knowledge gives you power.

Commeting

Today I commented on Mote's blog post. It was about kiwi sport. The kiwi sport that he did was Ki O rahi. I was interested into the areas on the field for Ki o rahi. The areas that he putted in his blog post was based on a legend for peace and harmony.

The Tasman fire

L.I: To apply different strategies to understand

This is the map of all the fire which is going on currently. Like for an example Panama Street. Panama Street haves a fire going on.  All the fires which is on the map is all the fire which currently on. Me and my group mostly did research about the Nelson fire. The nelson fire has stopped already. The nelson fire stopped on February 11th of 2019.

This is a poster that me and my group did about the Tasman fire. On the top text box is about the New Zealand fire ratings. The colours of the fire ratings are Green, blue, yellow, orange and red. If the fire rating is on green then we are safe. If it is on blue then there is just a little bit of fire around. If it on yellow then there is big fire around. If it on orange then there is a bigger fire around in New Zealand and if it's on red then there is a giant fire which that people who lived near by had to evacuate. On the bottom text box is about the Tasman fire. A Tasman fire is a bush fire. The Tasman fire was located in 38 Greenpark Rd, Penrose, Auckland 1061.

This is a slide about the Tasman fire. For the first slide me and my group had to right about who was involved in the Tasman fire, what happen to the Tasman fire, when did the Tasman fire happen, where the Tasman fire took place and why the Tasman fire happen. The Tasman fire was unknown of why it happen.

Relationships and Emotion

L.I:  Identify characteristics of being a good citizen.

L.I: Identify characteristics of having a healthy/non healthy relationship.

L.I: Identify actions and factors that can prevent a team from working
co-operatively.

Today me and my group made these 3 drafts about relationships and emotion, sport team and learning team and Good and bad team work.

 Padlet
Me and my group went on a padlet about types of relationships and how can relationships can change.  The types of relationships is when their is different relationships that you have with someone in school, home, the community. How can relationship change is when someones action changes your emotion or someones action changes your action or your emotion.

Venn Diagram

The Venn diagram is what sport team does and learning team does. In the middle is what Sport and learning team got in common.  Like for an example: They both use team work.
On the learning side is what the learning team haves when they are learning from their teacher. On the                                                                         sports side is what sports team haves                                                                       when they are learning from their                                                                             couch.

T chart
This T chart is about team work. Good things and bad things. On the good side is all the good things that LS1 use to be successful when we are working as a group. On the bad side is all the bad things that sometimes LS1 use when we fail when we are working together as a group.

Ki O rahi ( Kiwi Sport )

L.I: To learn about the area of the field in Ki o Rahi

Areas
The yellow boxes are the Po also known as the Taniwha seven teeth. The blue-ish rectangle is the ice bridge also know as Te ara. The ice bridge is named after Rahi's wife Te Ara. The blue circle is the Te roto. Te roto is the lake. It's where the Taniwha comes from to attack Rahi from trying to safe Te ara. The green circle is the island also known as the Pawero and grey circle in the middle is the rock. The Maori word rock is tupu. The tupu is where Rahi landed when he crashed next to the tupu.

How to play Ki O Rahi
To play there is 2 teams. Team Taniwha and Team Kioma. Team Kioma haves to run around the 7 poes also known as the Taniwha's teeth. Team Kioma has the ball known as the key and team Kioma supposed to run around and touch the poes with the ball.  Team Taniwha is gonna throw a ball at the tupu. When the ball hits the tupu the Kioma person haves to stop. The only way to stop Kioma is if the taniwha team says Mutu. If the Kioma team gets the ball in the island then they get a point.

Maths Poster

L.I: To learn things in maths to connect with the number

This week I made a maths poster about the number 13. What I did was went in a group of 3. So me and my group made a poster about the number 13. After that me and my group made a poster about the number 13 digitally this time. What I added was counters, how to make 13, the place value and the Maori word of 13. For the place value there was 1 tens and 3 ones. The Maori word for 13 is Tekau ma toru. These are some of the ways of making 13.

13 x 1 = 13
10 + 3 = 13
14 - 1 = 13
9 + 4 = 13
12 + 1 = 13

How to make a safe password

L.I: To make a safe password

This week I made a poster about how to make a safe password. Your password haves to not be something about you because if it is it will be easy for the hackers to hack your account. You can use a phrase or a word that is not in the dictionary because it will be harder for the hackers to guess your password.

Celebration

L.I: To plan and make a recount

This week I made a recount about me celebrating New years at church. I was proud of what I made. The structure of a recount is tree. Tree is the structure of a recount. T stands for Title. R stands for Reveal. E stands for Event and the other E stands for Ending.

Graphs

LI: To display data on a graph.
This week for Maths we had to make a graph  digitally and by hand. On our graph we had to write about six different data platforms.

Each of us made one graph each.  For the graphs we had to write a statements about  the data we collected. For the graphs we had to write the labels and the title so people know what it is about. Some main things you need on a graph is amount of people that have you data, a vertical and horizontal label.

Music

L.I: To learn the notes and chords

This week the year 5's went to a music session with Whai Odie. The year 5's each had a instrument. I had a xylophone. Whai Odie teach us a song. We learnt 2 notes which were 1 note and a quarts. The 1 note is only use 1 note. The quarts note is 2 sounds at once. we had 4 notes. C, F, A and G. We used them for the song we learnt.

Kiwi Sport

L.I: Ki O Rahi

Today the year 5's did Kiwi sport. We had a coach named Shanice. We were gonna watch a legend about the game Ki o Rahi.

Legend

There was a couple. The couples name was Rahi and Te Ara. Suddenly a bad guy kidnapped Te Ara. So Rahi went to find her. He went to a forest but the forest was blocked. He built something to fly over the blocked forest, but he crashed right next to a rock. But suddenly a Taniwha came. The Taniwha threw seven teeth at Rahi. But then a there was 3 stars that represent Rahi's father.  Rahi's father came to protect Rahi for the Taniwha. Rahi gather a group of people from his village and eventually found Te Ara. When tehy got Te Ara out of the cave. Rahi and Te Ara went back to their village.

Why was this game made?

This game was made to create peace and harmony

Games

When we finished watching the legend of Ki O Rahi. The year 5's went outside with Shanice to play some games. The first game was Taniwha and Kioma. It's like rats and rabbits but in a Maori version. There will be 2 teams. Team Kioma and Team Taniwha. Every time our coach says Kioma. Kioma runs and the Taniwha team tried  to tag them. If our coach says Taniwha then the Taniwha team runs and the Kioma team chases them and tag them.

The last game we played was 8 passes. 8 passes was for Team work and communicate. To play there will be a boy vs girls. There will be 1 ball and one of the team haves to pass to each other to get 8 passes. If they drop the ball then the team with the ball haves to give the ball to the other team.

Kiwi Can

L.I: To have a positive relationship

Today at kiwi can we had a new instructor. His name was Mr Alapati. He shared a little bit about himself. He said that he was in kiwi can since 2011. For our theme it was positive relationship and our topic was positive communication. Next we had a energiser.

Our energiser was Eyes up and down. To play when the kiwi can leaders say eyes. We look down. When the kiwi can leaders say eyes up. We look at a person. If we make eye contact or point at each other then both of us will be out.

Then we talked about rules. The Kiwi can leaders asked us what kind of rules that kiwi can have. These are the rules.

Rules: Make sure to pay attention to the Kiwi can leaders.
           Respect the Kiwi can leaders.
Do not talk over when the kiwi can leaders are talking.
Always listen to the kiwi can leaders.

After that we had our activity.

Our activity was Jocky up. To play we had to be in pairs. When the Kiwi can leaders say Jockey up. Our partner in the back haves to run all the way to their partner and switch.

After that we went back inside and had GKQ. 5 people had to stand up and answer questions. The buzzer was turn around, touch the ground, click our fingers 2 times and dab. When we do the buzzer we have to answer the question. Then all of the winners had to stand up and answer one more question. I didn't win but I tried my best.
