Kiwi Can

L.I: To learn how to communicate positively

For Kiwi Can we learnt how to communicate positively. For the energizer we played "Flip the cone". To play there will be half of the cones upside down and the other flipped the opposite side. There will be 2 teams and some of the members will come out and try flip the cones. One team will flip the upside down cone and the other flipping the opposite side of the cone. Team with most flips wins.

Next we play another activity called street fighter. To play the Kiwi Can leaders had to say a number and the people standing. These were the actions we did.  If they say 1 we do 1 punch. If they say 2 we do 2 punches. If they say 3 we do a kick. If the say 4 we do an upper cup and spin around and if they say 5 we have to do a Hadouken. After that they make a random combinations and the 2 people who are standing up have to do the actions. Who ever finishes all actions first they win.

Kiwi Sport | Rippa Rugby

L.I: To learn the basics of Rippa Rugby

For Kiwi Sport we played Rippa Rugby. We did some other activities to warm us up.  For the warm ups we practice throwing and passing the ball. What we did was get in a line in four groups. Then the first person runs and passes to the next person. Once the last person catches it. The person throws the ball at the other person on the opposite side.  After our warm up we played Rippa Rugby. It was fun but I got exhausted from running a lot from warming up and playing Rippa.

Fact Find

L.I: To learn about something new

Today we did fact find. We had to choose an topic. My group and I chose sport and we did rugby league. What we had to do was find 5 facts about the rugby league. Then we had to attribute images and photos and we added information sources.

In rugby league there can only be 13 players and 4 subs in each team. The Rugby League field is 68 meters long and If a team gets tackled 6 times in a row the team hands over the ball to the other team.
This topic was interesting.

We also did idioms. Idiom is a group of words. What we had to do was make a video using Idioms.

Independant Activities

L.I: To practice independent activities.

Our groups started a rotation. The activities we attempted were Basic Facts Boxes, Drills, Abacus, and finding a group logo. For the drills I had to answer addition questions. I attempted the Up to 10 Speed Demon challenge on Basic Facts Boxes. It took me 8 minutes and 18 seconds to complete all addition Basic Facts Boxes. Some of these challenges were difficult but I was still able to finish some of them.

Name Worth

L.I: To know what my name worth

This week we learnt about our name worth.  Each letter in our name had a different kind of number worth. L=8 E=2 O=4 N=8. Next we had to add the letter worth together to create a new number. 8+2+4+8= 22. BUT the name worth needs to be a single digit number. SO, 2+2=4. My name worth is four.

L.I: To develop fundamental and movements in cricket

We did our first session of Cricket with Brian from HPCC. I did a session on Batting with Brain. We had to hit 2 balls off the cone as far as I could. Our next activity was throwing. We had to throw a ball at the wickets or cones. Lastly we did catching. We surrounded Brian in a big circle. Then Brain threw 2 balls at people and those people had to try catch it. It was exhausting but I still had a lot of fun.

How to make a strong password

L.I: To learn how to make a strong password.

A password is a code or lock that can be use to unlock things. When making a strong password you need to mix numbers, symbols (? , ! ' )and upper and lower case letters. There is 2 ways of making a password. 1 way is to make a random phrase. Another way is using the Acronym method.

The random phrase method is a mix of 2 random words that don't make sense. Then replace some letters to  symbols, upper and lower case letters and numbers.

Acronym is another way of making a strong password. Make a sentence with 8 words or more. Then take the first letter of each word then mix it up together. Then replace some letter and lower case letters and numbers.
