Collaborative: Earth and Beyond

L.I: To activate our prior knowledge about what we think is beyond our earth.
Today Me, Suila and Angela collaborated by completing a Bus stop activity to activate our prior Knowledge which is what we already know about a certain topic. We were to complete each slide as quickly as we can because each slide had a time limt of 2 minutes. For the first minuet we were not allowed to talk but we were to add our facts on what we knew about space. We then got to watch a video to help us bring more knowledge on space. This was all to build on our knowledge.

L.I: To understand what is needed for space travel
This week for inquiry my group made a straw rocket. There goal was to get there rocket as high as possible. They had 4 rockets to test when there were none left to test they wrote there answer on there slide. The slide has our hypothesis and method on how we built the rocket the fourth slide told then what they changed and what happened. And the last slide is the ending and if the hypothesis was supported. This week for inquiry my group made a straw rocket. There goal was to get there rocket as high as possible. Main Points
Explain Visually
Summary

The other structure of an explanation is " TIIC " which stand for:

L.I: To learn about the patupaiarehe fairies and the geography of Aotearoa.

Patupaiarehe are fairies that live in the forest. They have magical powers like flight and strength. The patupaiarehe we learnt about today live on the forest. We learnt about the Patupaiarehe and how the eels migrate by listening to the stofy of Ihenga and searching for information, and using Google maps.

L.I: To use integrity and honesty.

Staying as a liar  is not always not good, but telling the truth or help a friend to finish the work that must be done. We did a truthful activity to show people's emotion in different situations like when a lie is told or when a secret is revealed.

Maori

L.I: To learn the geography of Aotearoa
L.I: To identify what Patupaiarehe are.

Mount Maunaganui is a mountain in Tauranga. The Hanua and Waitakere ranges are mountains in Auckland. Patupaiarehe are Fairies that lived on these mountains in Maori myths. I learn about the Patupaiarehe and mountains by listening to two stories. The legend of Mauoo and The Turehe Wars. I learn where the mountains are by looking on Google Maps.

Kiwi Can Term 2 week 2

L.I: To define what honesty is.

Catch phrase - Speak to me truthfully, that is called Honesty!

In the our session of Kiwi can we learnt Honesty & Integrity. Integrity means doing the right thing and Honesty means not losing someone's trust, no lies & being truthful with everyone.

For our activity we did role playing. In my group our situation was cheating. We played tag for our role play. One of us lied about tagging another person in our group but later admitted that he  didn't tag him and to be honest the next time he is playing a game.

The 2 Steve's

LS1 has made an ad for the first Apple computer. What I learnt was a new reading skill. First we learnt new words and learning the definition of it. Then we made a DLO of the words with the real definition and our ideas of what it means. After we made another DLO on the first ever computer, the first ever Apple computer and the Modern Apple computer. Finally we had to write a script for our ad to convince people to use the first ever Apple computer.

Maori

L.I: To know the legend about Mount Maunganui

The legend of Mount Maunganui was about how Maunganui got dragged to its current place. Whaea Odie read us a story about Mount Mauganui. We used google maps to search up different places that relates to Tauranga and Mount Maunganui. The places that we searched up were: Maungatapu, Kaimai, Hairini and Waimapu River. We also used google docs to write maori questions and answers. The questions are: What is your name?, How old are you and Where are you from.
